First I want to welcome you to our web site. I know that choosing a place to board your friend for life is a very important decision. When looking for someone to care for your dog and properly train him/her, you want to assure that your best friend will be getting the best care possible. So here is a little about myself. This way you can be assured that choosing us is the right choice.
I was born in Buffalo NY. Early in my life my family moved to Columbus, Ohio where I was reared and attended Eastmore High School playing basketball (guard), football (right half-back) and running track. I worked at a local veterinary office during High School, intending to go to Ohio State University for a degree in Veterinary Medicine. But, after graduation I helped my family move to Orlando, Florida where I setup the K-9 Dog Club and the Orlando German Shepherd Dog Club and have called Orlando home until I was enlisted in the 1959 draft (during the Berlin crisis) into the Army Military Police K-9 Sentry Dog Program. I served as K-9 Honor Guard at former President J.F. Kennedy's Memorial Ceremony, and became involved in the Cuban Crisis Security Program. I was stationed at Fort Meyers, Virginia, patrolled Arlington National Cemetery, Lee's Mansion, Iwo Jima and Cameron Station Outpost. After the Army I was a part of the Washington, D.C. K-9 Police Dog Training School under Pat Kahill, Instructor, and learned my police dog training skills from Pat.
In approximately 1963 I returned to Orlando working for both Martin Marietta Missiles Company and the Orlando Police Department. I worked through a pilot program for the State of Florida establishing the first (in Florida) K-9 Police Dog for the Orlando Police Department. Also during this time I became involved in establishing the 'Florida Police K-9 Association' and began to build my business, 'K-9 Orlando Professional Dog Training School' (the first dog training school in the state of Florida) which has evolved into what is now called 'K-9 Boarding - Dog Training Center, Inc.' This is a 20 acre facility that utilizes indoor and outdoor kennels, two training fields (one for Police K-9 School and one for the international dog sport of 'Schutzhund') with stadium lights and completely fenced in with chain link fence and building.
